This is such an amazing and well researched piece. I enjoyed reading it so much as someone who is currently in the ballet world. I’ve actually written a similar piece about ballet and it’s toxic ideals feel free to give it a look if you would like <3

Thank you so much for your kind words, Kyra! I'm so glad you liked the article, especially as someone active in the ballet world. Thank you as well for sharing your essay, which I've greatly enjoyed. I particularly liked this sentence: "The more a dancer grows into herself, the more she is told to diminish." What a dreadful thing to expect of someone in 2025. I really hope for change, but the issue, as you said in your article, is that it this obsession with girlhood and outward fragility is so engrained in ballet that changing it would require a complete overhaul in the way it is taught and promoted.

Very interesting. People want to be thin, end up with Ozempic face and then use fillers to puff up their face. Vicious cycle.
